Apple has just presented its new ones chip M2 Pro e M2 Max, promising to take workflows to the next level with truly exceptional specifications. Between computational cores and killer graphics, the Neural Engine and up to 96GB Of unified memorypromise serious performance on the Mac mini (the Pro) and MacBook Pro (both).
Apple presents the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips: here are the specifications and features
Apple today announced quality laptops and computers. But chips are the heart of any technological device, and Apple wanted to present the newcomers from Cupertino with an official post, which promise performance up to 75% faster than their predecessors.
This means that our Apple devices will be able to handle more complex and heavy tasks with ease, such as video editing and large data processing. It also means our devices will have longer battery life, allowing us to work and play longer without needing to recharge.
M2 Pro
But the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips aren’t just for power users. Apple designed the chips to deliver an optimized user experience, with faster boot speeds and overall smoother system performance.
As he explains Johnny Srouj, Senior Vice President of Hardware Technologies at Apple, : “Apple is unique in creating SoCs like the M2 Pro and Ma2 Max. They deliver incredible pro-level performance coupled with industry-leading power efficiency. With an even more powerful CPU and GPU, support for a larger unified memory system and an advanced media engine, the M2 Pro and M2 Max represent an impressive leap forward for Apple chips.”
The power of numbers
The new M2 Pro, with 5-nanometer technology, has 40 billion transistors, almost 20% more than the M1 Pro chip and double that of the M2 chip. It offers 200GBps of unified memory bandwidth and up to 32GB of low latency unified memory. It boasts CPU 10-core o 12-core new generation has up to eight high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. Instead, the GPU has up to 19-cores, resulting in 40% faster processing of images in Photoshop.
With 67 billion transistors, M2 Max beats the last generation by 10 billion. It has 400GBps of unified memory bandwidth and up to 96GB of fast unified memory. With a 12-core CPU and an amazing GPU with up to 38-Coreallows you to carry out any graphic project you have in mind.
Both have the Neural Engine 16-core Apple generation, which is capable of performing 15.8 trillion operations per second. And then I can handle all the workload you need.
You can find them in the 14-inch and 16-inch Mac minis and MacBook Pros, which you can buy on Apple’s website.
