By now the internet has become an essential element of our daily life. We use the web for everything: from listening to music to getting information. After all, you are reading this news on the web. And then there are of course the countless social platforms, which allow us to keep in touch anytime, anywhere. But what is actually the most used social network in Italy?
A recent Censis research is underway to answer this question, conducted between 2021 and 2022. The report gives us a clear picture of the boot and its relationship with the many facets of the internet.
WhatsApp is the most used social network in Italy
From the study of the 18th Censis report on communication it emerges that the most widespread and used social platform in Italy is WhatsApp. The popular messaging app is used by 93.4% of respondents. A figure that is not surprising given the absolute predominance that instant messaging has in our lives, whether for work or to keep in touch with friends and relatives.
More generally, the study reveals that between 2021 and 2022 the use of the web by Italians grew by +4.5%. The interesting fact, trivial but not obvious, is that the percentage of web users is exactly equal to those who use smartphones (88%).
As for the platforms in general, the ranking is as follows:
The study also reveals that in the last year, Facebook and Twitter have been the two social networks that have dropped the most in Italy in terms of percentage of use.
