After the announcement of the integration of ChatGPT in products Microsoft, Google has its own answer: the chatbot Sparrow. It seems that the competition between the two technological giants will be played entirely on artificial intelligence.
Google announces Sparrow, the chatbot that responds to ChatGPT
The new Sparrow puts Google’s AI technology into a chatbot that wants to compete directly with ChatGPT. Demis Hassabis, founder of DeepMind (the artificial intelligence company that belongs to Alphabet, Google’s parent company), explained that it already has a version of the chatbot ready to talk to users.
Google could therefore launch the novelty as early as 2023, to show all the power of Google’s AI. Which would have al functionality currently absent from ChatGPT. Among these, the ability to cite sources through reinforcement learning.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT has the advantage of popularity: many users are already using it for disparate uses (including those who have built a “virtual girl” on it). By interacting with users, learn and improve. But Google has its own user interactions with Researchcon Google Translator and with voice assistant for Android and smart home products.
But Microsoft has announced its intention to integrate ChatGPT also in the office package (perhaps to help you with Word drafts or in managing Excel tables) and in its Bing search engine. A direct challenge to Google services. So much so that the CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly recalled founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page to headquartersto plan the strategy.
We just have to wait for the release of Sparrow to understand which of the two chatbots is more intelligent and useful.
