Snapchat has announced that it has surpassed 2 million paid subscribers to Snapchat+, the platform’s premium service. The paid plan, available in Italy at a cost of €4.59 per month, was launched for the first time in June 2022.
The subscription plan, according to Snapchat, reached one million subscribers in the first 60 days of launch.
Snapchat+: all the benefits for subscribers
Snapchat+ offers users premium features like the ability to tag someone as their #1 friend or priority responses to Snap Star, the company’s program for the most popular creators.
Snapchat+ introduced new subscription features in the last quarter, such as custom notification sounds, story expiration controls, customizable chat backgrounds, and the ability to gift the subscription to other users.
According to data from analytics firm Sensor Tower, Snapchat’s subscription has literally outclassed Twitter Blue. By the end of October, consumers had spent a total of $6.4 million on the Twitter app. Compared, Snap’s paid plan raised a whopping $28 million. This, of course, was before Elon Musk took over Twitter and revolutionized the current Twitter Blue.
During the fourth quarter of 2022, Snapchat reported revenue of $1.3 billion. A slightly higher figure compared to 1.298 billion in Q4 of 2021. Daily active users are also growing (+17%).
