About two months have passed since the famous survey in which Elon Musk was asking if he should step down as CEO of Twitter. The response from the network, as we well know, was affirmative and for over a month we wondered how and when the Tesla patron would keep his word.
A big news comes from World Government Summit di Dubai, where Elon Musk appeared via video conference. La Stampa reports that during his speech, Musk recognized the need to find a new CEO to stabilize the company and, he added, he will do so by the end of the year. His exact words were: “I have to make sure that Twitter is in a financially sound state. I think towards the end of this year I should be able to find a new CEO”.
Twitter under Elon Musk – a catastrophic series of events
Musk’s management of Twitter has certainly not started well, since the acquisition of the platform which took place in October 2022. The introduction of paid verification ticks (Twitter Blue), maxi-layoffs, zero tolerance on troll profiles and the general amnesty for banned personalities have led to a real feeling of revulsion on the part of investors. Not only that: many users have begun to abandon Twitter for other platforms such as Mastodon. There was even a day when the imminent end of Twitter was prophesied, with the apocalyptic hashtag #RipTwitter.
Meanwhile Musk, after changing his name to Mr. Tweet, has now forced all users to see only his posts. A change of man in charge, at this moment, seems more inevitable than recommended.
