Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix show themselves in the first photo of Joker: Folie à Deux, released by the same director Todd Philips
The director of Joker: Folie à Deux, Todd Philips, has decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day by exalting the craziest love between Harley Quinn and the Joker. In the past few hours on social media he has in fact released the first image that sees Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix reunited, or the two protagonists of the sequel to the 2019 film that tells the origins of the most famous Batman villain. In the sequel Arthur Flecka fragile and disturbed man, will no longer be alone in facing a world that exasperates him and invites violence: next to him there will be the character played by Lady Gaga, who apparently will be an initial version of Harley Quinn, or rather Dr. Harleen Quinzela psychiatrist who works with inmates at Arkham Penitentiary.
The prima photo of Joker: Madness for Two
As you can imagine from this first photo, their encounter triggers reactions between the two that are certainly not composed (she also has blood coming out of her nose). For now, the character played by the pop star has not yet taken on the hair color and typical make-up of her counterpart in the comic, confirming a still embryonic evolution of her character, while Phoenix has a pale face with some colored streaks, a sign That the transformation into the Joker is now irreversible. There are still no precise details on how the plot of this second chapter will develop, after all, even if persistent rumors – and the very idea of involving Lady Gaga – say that it will be a film with a strong musical component.
It will not be the first appearance, as we know, of the Harley Quinn character on the big screen: born not from comics but from the legendary Batman animated series in the Nineties, the psychiatrist who became Joker’s sidekick was then interpreted in the films Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey and The Suicide Squad by Margot Robbie. There is a lot of expectation on this new incarnation, also because Joker: Folie à Deux, already in this first photo, seems to be irrepressible. Further confirmations will come inOctober 2024scheduled release date.
