Returnal was recently released on PC but had some issues that were recently fixed with the first patch in February
Climax Studios and Housemarque have released the Returnal’s first PC update through a patch. The February 17 patch, which weighs approx 1,3 GB, fixes a number of bugs that plagued the game, and more. The developers have also confirmed that they are working on a patch for improve performance on PC. This patch will be released in the future but at the moment we don’t have an official release date yet. Currently the title has been available for a few days on Steam but it is not receiving much success according to the latest statements from Sony.
The first patch of Returnal for PC has been released
Naturally, Steam will download this patch of Returnal for PC the next time you launch its client. Below you will find all of them in detail full patch info.
- Fixed a rare issue with music cutting out when entering the biome
- Fixed some Ultrawide monitor configurations not being detected in full screen
- Fix for incorrect Windows resolution detection on first boot
- Fixed grass draw distance
- Fix PSN login timeouts
- Corrected rounding error of benchmark results
In more detail, the February 17 update fixes an issue with the grass viewing distance. Also fixes a rare issue where the music cuts out when entering the biome. As mentioned, this update does not bring any performance improvements. It also doesn’t minimize or eliminate the statter problems that occur when you enable effects Ray Tracing of the game. We just have to wait for more information for the next update which should fix the current performance issues of the game.
