To ensure that the digital transformation process is completed at 360° in all schools, it is necessary to adopt quality tools. They must guarantee operational continuity at all levels, from teaching to administrative activities and one of the examples is that of TP-Link. It is an important challenge, which in the first place the Government wanted to take up through the plan “School 4.0 – innovative schools, new classrooms and laboratories” financed by the PNRR with a total investment of 2.1 billion euros.
TP-Link for school 4.0
The goal is to transform around 100,000 traditional classrooms into connected learning environments. That is, classrooms and laboratories equipped with high-performance connectivity and IT tools for teaching, such as PCs, tablets and interactive whiteboards. Creating innovative spaces is the first step towards a new approach to teaching. Designed to transmit the digital skills now necessary to enter the job market.
TP-Link, a leading brand in the networking sector, has made large investments in the development of business-level connectivity solutions in recent years. In this scenario, special attention has always been paid to the world of education. In support of this commitment, also in 2023 the company reconfirms its presence at Didactathe reference fair for the school world scheduled at Fortezza Da Basso in Florence and Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 March.

During the three days of the event, all school professionals will be able to learn about the functions and advantages of the wireless & networking business solution TP-Link OMADA SDN. The Omada range – made up of Access Points, Managed Switches, VPN Gateways and Cloud Controllers – guarantees a fast and secure connection. It gives the possibility to create differentiated networks dedicated respectively to administrative staff, teachers and students.
TP-Link and schools, a winning team
Several schools throughout the country have already chosen to rely on TP-Link as a technological partner for the digital adaptation of classrooms and common areas. Among these, for example, Del Rosso State Higher Institute – Da Verrazzano in the province of Grosseto, made up of 4 school complexes with a total of over 600 pupils, about 140 teachers and 30 school collaborators and assistants.
After careful design evaluation, it was decided to install EAP Series Indoor Access Points in all areas of the Institute. Network management was implemented through the Omada SDN Software Controller which, combined with the Nethsecurity firewall, allowed the configuration of the entire network in a simple and scalable way.
Furthermore, to guarantee secure access to the network for all users, a WiFi network was activated distributed across all four buildings with SSID: DRDV Education with authentication via Captive Portal and time-limited personalized vouchers. The efficiency of the wireless network was guaranteed by the support of the Omada Smart Managed PoE Switches. They allow the distribution of services and the power supply of the Access Points.
