There is a specific video on YouTube causing an unexpected crashimmediate and absolutely inexplicable of Pixel 7, the smartphone from Google. Specifically, the clip not only crashes the YouTube app, but causes the smartphone to be forced to restart.
This was reported by several users on Reddit, who report that the problem is related to both the Pixel 7 and its Pro version.
Google Pixel 7 crashes when playing this video on YouTube
The video in question (which you find below) is called Alien 4K HDR | Get Out of There. This is a short clip restored in 4K from the first film in the Alien franchise, released in 1979. You can try it yourself, if you have a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro smartphone.
At the moment it is not clear why and how the clip causes the device to restart, but it is established that the problem does not seem to affect the other models in any way (although a very small percentage of users complain of a similar crash on Pixel 6). In particular the error occurs if the video is opened via the YouTube app. From the browser, however, no problem.
In addition to Reddit, users also report the crash in the comments section of the video itself. It is believed that the cause is generated by the HDR movie processing error. However, no official news has been received at the moment.
