In anticipation of its release, the time has come to find out more about the brand new season 3, of Bridgerton

If the first season had gathered a large number of spectators around it, thanks to the love story between Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings, in the second we instead focused on her brother, Anthony. Surprisingly season 3 will not tell the story of Benedictsecond son of the Bridgerton family, but of Colin Bridgerton e you Penelope. In the novels from which the show is based, Colin is the protagonist of the fourth volume of the literary saga of Julia Quinntitled A man to conquer; in the series, however, it was decided to anticipate these events.
Jess Brownellshowrunner of the series commented on this decision:
I really feel it’s time for Colin and Penelope. We’ve seen both characters since Season 1 and have already invested a lot in them. We know who they are. There were moments last season where Colin was close to realizing that Penelope has feelings for him, but he’s not quite there yet. Rather than treading cautiously with this dynamic, we wanted to address it directly in their season. It really felt like the perfect time.
In season 3 we will therefore see Penelope who, convinced to let go of her crush on Colin Bridgerton, due to some disparaging comments that the boy made about her, decided to find a husband. The girl is looking for a groom who, however, leaves her adequate independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown. Unfortunately, Penelope’s low self-esteem and her distance from her friend Eloise won’t make her life easy. Meanwhile Colin, back from a summer trip, is shocked to discover that Penelope treats him coldly. Eager to regain her friendship, he decides to help her find a husband.

Also in the next season Colin and Penelope, this time protagonists, will be interpreted respectively by Luke Newton e Nicola Coughlan. Alongside them we will also review Jonathan Baileyprotagonist of the second season, as Anthony e Ruby Stokes, in Kate’s. They will return later Julie Andrews (Lady Whistledown), Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet), Luke Thompson (Benedict), Claudia Jessie (Eloise), Will Tilston (Gregory), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth) e Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe). She will also return the character of Francesca, one of the youngest daughters of the family, but the role of her will no longer belong to Ruby Stokes, but to Hannah Dodd.
Like any self-respecting new season, there will then be some new entries. daniel francis will play Marcus Anderson, a charismatic individual, able to attract the attention of some high society matriarchs and the wrath of others. Sam Phillips will be Lord Debling, a nobleman with unusual interests capable, with his wealth, of gaining the favor of young women. James Phoon instead it will be Harry Dankworth, a handsome but not very intelligent boy. We will know later Hannah Newin the role of Lady Tilley Arnold, a woman who became a widow very early, who will manage her husband’s estate, living in a condition of financial independence and sexual freedom.
Instead, we have to put our hearts at peace, because the Duke of Hastings will not return even in this third season. Indeed, it would seem that his interpreter Regé Jean Page has consented to a possible recasting of his character. Same fate for Phoebe Dynevor, interpreter of Daphne. From some rumors, it would seem that even Edwina, ie Charithra Chandran will not appear in the third season, due to another project.
The show, produced by Shonda Rhimeswill enjoy the work of a new showrunner, the aforementioned Jess Brownell. The TV series is a production Shondaland e CVD Productions.
The trailer and the release date
Unfortunately, as of today, we still don’t have a trailer or an official release date for the series. Initially it was thought it could be the first months of 2023, then everything was postponed to spring. To date however, the most probable period seems to us to be summer 2023. It would seem that the continuous postponement is due to problems at the plot level, which would not have convinced Shonda Rhimes, creator of the show. In fact, Rhimes would have requested more fun and a less dark plot. In any case, rest assured, filming has already begun some time ago, to be exact on July 20, 2022.
We also recall that Bridgerton has already been renewed for a fourth season, while there is talk of a spin-off dedicated to Queen Charlotte. If you are a fan of the series you can therefore rest assured, you will hear about this show for a long time to come.
