On the occasion of the Mobile World Congress 2023, currently underway in Barcelona, Google has announced new features for Android devices. The Mountain View giant focuses on improving connectivity, productivity, accessibility and entertainment. Specifically they are well 9 updates for Android and Ear OS presented at the MWC.
New Android features coming in 2023
Here are all the new announcements:
- The notes widget by Google Keep it will help you manage your notes and check off items from to-do lists from your home screen, displaying reminders, background colors and images.
- Google Keep will be rolling out two new shortcuts for the Wear OS smartwatch. These allow users to use their voice to create notes and to-do lists.
- To comment on PDFs in the Google Drive app for Android, simply use a stylus or touch the screen. Users can get creative in taking notes by trying out different ink strokes or using a highlighter tool.
- Google Meet integrates noise cancellation during calls on more Android mobile devices, filtering out background noise.
- Users will be able to connect new Bluetooth headphones to their Chromebook using the feature Fast Pair, with a single touch. Chromebooks will also automatically connect to headsets that are already set up with an Android phone.
- Emoji Kitchen will integrate new combinations of emojiseven as stickers via Gboard.
- To help confirm the in-store transactions on Google WalletAndroid is sharing fun new “tap-to-pay” animations like cheerful penguins and many more.
- Per improve the accessibility of the watch, Wear OS 3+ will introduce two new sound and display modes. Mono-audio helps limit clutter, while color-correction and grayscale modes give you more choice for your watch display.
