Despite having a few years behind him, the Milano Monza Motor Show he’s already made a name for himself. This is also thanks to its ability to attract many enthusiasts, ready to flock to MIMO en masse and live extraordinary motoring experiences. It is therefore not surprising that the event will return once again in 2023, to involve all fans of four (and two) wheels in many fun activities.
MIMO Milano Monza Motor Show: the novelties of the third edition
It was held today presentation of the third edition of the event, which will be staged from 16 to 18 June. As the name suggests, this event will move to two main locations, inextricably linked to the world of engines: Milan and Monza. The spaces in Piazza Duomo in the Milanese capital will return, with a hub that will host different vehicles to discover for the participants, but above all it will provide information on the program of the various days and will offer the possibility of booking for the various activities at theNational Autodrome of Monzawhere the stands of the various motor brands that will take part in the event will once again be positioned.
In this speed temple there will be some of the most exciting opportunities of the three days. Over 40 manufacturers will present their new projects on two and four wheels. The enthusiasts present will be able to put them to the test in special test drives in the 4 km circuit which will also pass through the old overpasses and chicanes created specifically to deal with different road conditions.
But this year in particular there will be one specific attention to the models “with the plug”. Sustainability is an increasingly important factor and this can be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the world of electricity. For this MIMO Milano Monza Motor Show has collaborated with companies to create experiences that respond to the wishes and doubts of consumers. In fact, along the whole circuit there will be special charging stationsso as to allow you to try them firsthand and get a more complete test drive that also covers an aspect that often constitutes an obstacle to purchasing for consumers.
The watchword is dynamism
The benchmark is clear for the organizers of the MIMO Milano Monza Motor Show, who dream of being able to recreate an Italian version of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. For this the dynamicity is one of the key factors of this edition and of the event in general.
Among the moments that already promise great emotions we find the Premiere Parade on Friday which will see representatives of car manufacturers, journalists and influencers parading on board all the main novelties on the market. On the same day, in the evening, there will be the so-called Monzanapolis, dedicated to collectors and owners of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley and much more. All of this on an extraordinary 10 km course obtained by combining the high-speed ring with the Formula 1 circuit of the Monza racetrack. At the same time in Milan there will be the transition from Piazza Duomo della legendary 1000 Milesloved by many motor enthusiasts.
Saturday will be a day of celebrations, with a parade that will unite the two cities for celebrate the 120th anniversary of ACI Milano. It starts from the historic headquarters in Corso Venezia and then reaches the racetrack and parades on the 10 km of the united circuits.
On Sunday, space for innovation, with a truly unique race. For the first time the Indy Autonomous Challenge, dedicated to self-driving cars, will take place on a circuit with bends and braking points. Not only that, but it will be the first time the competition, where the team of the Politecnico di Milano has already distinguished itself several times, it will take place in Europe.
MIMO Milano Monza Motor Show, the floor to the organizers
In launching the new edition of the MIMO Milano Monza Motor Show, President Andrea Levy underlined the theme of dynamism, declaring:
“MIMO 2023 will be a dynamic event with many innovations and previews, all available to the public who will be able to try them out in a very suggestive circuit, obtained from the passage between the paddocks and on the ancient Monza flyover. In Milan, the public will be able to find all the information on MIMO in Piazza Duomo, in the hub station enriched and colored by some installations of the car manufacturers in front of the churchyard”.
Martina Riva, Councilor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Milan reiterated how this event has a great tourist impact on the city, involving over 250,000 people in the last edition:
“In defining the methods of participation in MIMO this year we decided to focus on the attractiveness of the city and its positive influence on the surrounding area in terms of tourism. For this reason, as part of MIMO 2023, Milan will be the event’s information center and showcase for industry news.
The goal is to capitalize on the tourist presence in the city, offering our visitors experiences to live in those days both in Milan, such as the possibility of also attending the passage of the 1000 Miglia or the parade for the 120th anniversary of ACI, and in Monza“ .
Tourism is also a key factor for Carlo Abbà, Councilor for Productive Activities of the Municipality of Monza, who underlined how it allows enthusiasts to discover different corners of the city:
“The city of Monza is proud to host the MIMO Milano Monza Motor Show again this year, which this year is even richer and full of technological and market innovations. For this we want to thank, in addition to the organizers, ACI Milano and the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, increasingly testifying to the common will and goal of enhancing our city.
We want to take this opportunity to present to all the many visitors who will come to MIMO, the beauties of Monza including Villa Reale, the Duomo museum with the Iron Crown and the historic centre”.
Finally, Geronimo La Russa, President of ACI Milan, comments:
“Automobile Club Milano will celebrate its 120th anniversary in June and we are proud to celebrate this important anniversary with an event scheduled within the Milano Monza Motor Show. The appointment is for June 17 in front of our headquarters, where numerous cars that have written the history of motoring will leave for the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
The parade will end with a lap of the Brianza circuit. ACI Milano will therefore be a trait d’union and an element of connection between the past – represented by the most iconic cars in the history of motoring that will parade on the track of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza – the present and the future thanks to the models on display, the maximum expression of technology , safety, sustainability, comfort, design and performance.
As has already happened in the first two editions, I am sure that in 2023 the Mime will be a car festival, capable of thrilling thousands of enthusiasts who will populate the central streets of Milan and the Monza National Autodrome“.
