Future Engineers is the competition category of the World Robot Olympiad designed for students of secondary and technical institutes, aged between 14 and 19 years.
Future Engineers grappling with self-driving cars
The goal of this challenge is to bring the kids to confront a design and engineering work designed to solve real-world problems. Specifically, the current goal to be achieved concerns the self-driving cars.
Overall, Future Engineers teams must build and program a self-driving steering carcapable of knowing how to “read”, during the race, the road signs and complete a course of 3 laps on a 320×320 cm competition field.
In each round the objects (which can be traffic lights, barriers or other) will be distributed in a different way.
As for building materials, the rules allow the use of any microcontroller and any programming language.
WRO 2023 dates and how to participate
Il 1January 5, 2023 regulations have been published. The Italian final of the WRO, on the other hand, is scheduled for 20 maggio 2023. The winning team will fly to Panama for the World Final, which will take place in November 2023.
Entries are currently still open (but only until April 15th) to participate in this year’s competitions. To register, simply click on the following link. World Robot Olympiad is more than a competition. It is, in fact, a global meeting point, as more than 85 nations participate in the competition.

Presentations are held every Friday from 19:30 to 21:00 until May. In addition, each mixed team with at least one female member will receive a gift.
