Future Engineers is the competition category of the World Robot Olympiad designed for students of secondary and technical institutes, aged between 14 and 19 years.

Future Engineers grappling with self-driving cars

The goal of this challenge is to bring the kids to confront a design and engineering work designed to solve real-world problems. Specifically, the current goal to be achieved concerns the self-driving cars.

Overall, Future Engineers teams must build and program a self-driving steering carcapable of knowing how to “read”, during the race, the road signs and complete a course of 3 laps on a 320×320 cm competition field.

In each round the objects (which can be traffic lights, barriers or other) will be distributed in a different way.

As for building materials, the rules allow the use of any microcontroller and any programming language.

In addition to registering, to participate it is important to:

  • read the race regulations;
  • develop a strategy to solve the challenge;
  • design a suitable robot;
  • program the robot and most importantly test it several times and have fun!
  • To find out more, it is possible to register for one of the various presentation evenings, in order to meet the judges and ask all the necessary questions. Alternatively, it is possible to write to the following email address:[email protected].
