A little over two months after the definitive shutdown of Google Stadia, tomorrow (March 31, 2023) will come Discord server also decommissioned of the service. The news had already been announced at the beginning of the year and was confirmed this morning. Users will then be able to continue using the Discord channel only until 5:00 pm PT tomorrow (in Italy it will be 3:00 am on April 1st).
Here’s how Stadia communicated the server shutdown:
“Hi everyone! I hope you are all well. As a reminder, this Friday, March 31 at 5 PM PDT, the Stadia Discord server will be shutting down. Your passion has helped make this community as great as possible. I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to chat here and make this community welcoming. Thank you to everyone who has participated in this fantastic community!“
Closes the Google Stadia Discord channel
The Stadia Discord channel, at the moment, it has about 2,200 users. During the three years of activity, the server has been very active, used by players to make friends, find companions for the multiplayer campaign and exchange advice on the various titles. In the last period, however, in view of the definitive closure of Stadia, Google has used the Discord channel to provide support to users.
At the moment, Stadia’s only active social channel appears to be Reddit (with an official subreddit). The company has already discontinued its Twitter and YouTube profiles. We don’t know if the Reddit newsgroup (r/Stadia) will be deleted or left in a derelict state. What is certain is that the channel matters more than 100,000 members.
