An anonymous source, which however seems reliable, has revealed some of the possible news that will arrive with iOS 17among which the new features related to the Dynamic Island. Also, improvements to research, control center, and other areas would be on the way.
Dynamic Island, Control Center and more: what’s new in iOS 17
According to the source, trusted by the MacRumors site, Apple will bring the Dynamic Island on all iPhone 15 quest’anno, after introducing it only on Pro models last year. This function that shows useful or interesting information depending on the context, such as battery status, incoming calls or activities in progress can “do much more”although the source didn’t specify what.
Another area that will receive “major changes” will be the Control Center, the panel that opens by swiping from the top edge of the screen. And that allows you to quickly access various settings and functions. The control center has been around since iOS 7 and hasn’t undergone major changes since iOS 11. On iOS 17, Apple should give users more options to customize the design and content of the control center.
The source also teased that iOS 17 will introduce new custom accessibility settings which will give users more flexibility in tailoring the iPhone user interface to their needs. This could be related to a hidden “Custom Accessibility Mode” that was found in the iOS 16.2 beta last year.
Finally, the source mentioned other new features that are expected to arrive with iOS 17, such as new settings for notifications and always-on display. More Focus filters to manage distractions, app updates Camera and Health and new frameworks ARKit to harness the power of augmented reality, ahead of the launch of Apple’s AR/VR headsets later this year.
