Finally, after years of troubled development and the eternal fear of falling eternally into vaporware, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have given birth to Dead Island 2, now available on the market: welcome to Hell-A!
Vaporware is an English neologism which sarcastically indicates computer products (software or hardware) whose release date is officially announced on the market, but which subsequently do not see the light of day due to technical or economic problems; however, their development can be resumed after a certain period of time.
With this definition, Wikipedia introduces us to one of the most deeply rooted fears in the gaming industry. Titles such as, for example, Beyond Good & Evil 2, eagerly awaited by a circle of gamers, which have been talked about for some time, commented on the development and state of the moment, but of which the hope of a ‘exit. In the same state also seemed to be Dead Island 2, announced now way back in 2014 and that he’s changed development teams so many times over the years that it’s almost been hard to keep up with him. A development that to define troubled is an understatement, in short. Now, however, we are here.
The sequel, developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, of the already appreciated first chapter of 2011 is finally on the market starting today, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | St. Set about ten years after the events of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, this second chapter differs from the prequels because it is set in Los Angeles and San Francisco, both placed under quarantine due to the zombie epidemic. The game focuses on the Slayers, a group of survivors who fight every day to survive in Hell-A (so nicknamed Los Angeles, what a flavour!), now completely invaded by zombies. The Slayers are humanity’s last hope becausein addition to the war skills, they are also equipped with an incredible immunity to the zombie virus, which indeed enhances them by bringing them into Fury Mode.
