When you have a successful series like Queen Charlotte in your hands, thinking of continuing a story, even if it is finished, is a not so remote hypothesis. After all Netflix is well aware of the potential of this series and certainly won’t want to pass up the opportunity to reopen the storyline again. In a recent interview with EW, creator Shonda Rhimes talked about the possibility of creating a second season. These are her words:
There have been requests for a new season to be created, but I haven’t talked about it yet. I could go on with Charlotte and George forever, but we’ve already told the story of this complicated and flawed love. But I do not exclude anything.
It’s clear that the miniseries was created not to have a sequel. Everything that was to be told has therefore already been told. However, the history of Netflix teaches us how much the platform likes to strike while the iron is hot, which is why Rhimes does not rule out a continuation of the events. It is probable that before announcing a second season, we should think about which path to take for this show, perhaps with new events, all yet to be created.

So for now, Rhimes hasn’t ruled out anything, certainly in the face of these statements it’s easy to think that, if anything is decided to continue the story of Queen Carlotta (India Amarteifio) and King George (Corey Mylchreest), this will not be broadcast in a short time. There is no need to despair though, because these waiting times will be filled by the new episodes of Bridgerton. The season 3 it is in fact well advanced, so much so that it is rumored that they may come out before the end of the year. Not to mention that one fourth season has already been confirmed and is already being thought of a fifth and ad a sixth, each dedicated to a brother of the noble family.
