The road to the North | Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Kio Yu Shrine Walkthrough
Kio Yu shrine is quite complex but at least you shouldn’t have too much trouble reaching it. In fact, this dungeon is located in the Hyrule Plain and to find it, just follow the long road that from the Dormedolce stabling it leads north. Shortly before reaching the borders of the region you will pass next to the Chestnut Plain and right here you will find the Kio Yu shrine. Generally shrines serve to put players in front of a challenge or to teach them something about the game world, but in reality this one manages to do both. In fact, to overcome the challenge and obtain both the chest and the sphere of blessing, you will have to learn how some elements interact with each other in the game. Overall the challenge is not too difficult but, if you want to solve it without committing yourself too much, below you will find all the steps necessary to complete the shrine:
- First grab the ice block to your left with the Ultrahand and carry it towards the cascade of flames on the right.
- Bring the block close to the fire e let it melt for a few seconds until its size is at least halved.
- Place the block on the button, enter the next room and use the parasail to let the wind carry you across the abyss.
- Here you can see a large block of ice falling relentlessly into a sea of flames and then melting. In this case you have to collect the bulk with the Ultrahand stone panel nearby and place it vertically in front of the flamethrowers for block fire.
- Move the ice block to a safe spot and glue the rock panel on it.
- Lean the block on the ramp of spikes, quickly grab onto one of the sides and let yourself be carried away.
- (OPTIONAL) To the right of the door that leads to the starting room you will find some raised shelves on which a is hidden chest. To reach it you can simply detach the panel from the ice block, reattach it on top as if it were a ramp pointing upwards and lean this construction against the wall for balance. This way you can climb on the ice and then use the ramp to jump comfortably in the direction of the chest. Once the chest is opened remember to re-glue the panel on top of the block.
- Now you can go back to the initial room e place the block under the cascade of flames. The panel placed on top it will not melt the ice and the weight of the structure will lower the button which will open the final door.
- Now you just need to continue and collect the sphere of blessing to complete the shrine.
