Apple has organized a WWDC 2023 event really full of news: but those that have NOT announced are even more. To find space to announce MacBook Air 15 inch, Mac Studio, Mac Pro and Apple’s long-awaited AR headset, which we now know as Vision Pro, had to leave out some new features for its operating systems. So here are the news for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch that Apple did not find the time to discuss at WWDC 2023.

As usual, Apple didn’t show off everything new in its operating systems during its inaugural presentation. But there are many little features that could make all the difference in how we use Apple devices.
What’s new in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 that Apple NOT announced at WWDC 2023
Lots of new features announced for iOS 17, from the ability to reply while someone is sending a voice message or leave a FaceTime video message to Apple’s new features for working with PDFs for the iPad. But those that have not announced are even more.
Apple announced that iPhone X, 8 and 8 Plus will not receive iOS 17. This means that the 2017 models will not be able to take advantage of the new features of the operating system. Apple maintained support for the same devices from iOS 13 to iOS 15, but has now excluded those with A11 processor or lower. iPhone X was the first smartphone with an OLED screen and FaceID, but now it will have to settle for iOS 16.
iPadOS 17 will not be compatible with iPad Pro first generation and fifth generation iPads. These tablets came out between 2015 and 2017 and have A9X or A9 chips.
Da Air Tag a Spotlight
Among the novelties of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 are the sharing AirTags and Where’s accessories with other people, the download offline di Apple Maps and the improvement of routing for electric vehiclesthe. Freeform will have new tools for drawing and writing. Some were shown in the keynote in the iPad section, but there will also be a ruler, a watercolor brush, a calligraphy pen, a highlighter and a variable-width pen.
New for Siri, Apple Music and more
Transition between songs in Apple Music becomes smoother with cross fade, which lowers the volume of one song while starting another. The look of the Apple Music app in iOS 17 has also been updated, with a slash Now Playing that overlaps the rest of the app and tabs blending with the UI design. Plus, you can create collaborative playlists with other people. Anyone participating in the playlist will be able to add, remove and sort songs, as well as express their opinions with emojis.
iOS 17 also offers more integration between Siri and calls or FaceTime on your iPhone. In fact, you can also activate Siri during a call and use it to do various things. macOS Sonoma will no longer support some Mac models: among them are the 2017 MacBook Pro; the small and light 2017 12-inch MacBook; and the 2017 iMac. If you have one of these Macs, you’ll have to settle for Monterey or switch devices.
Video calls
Among the novelties is the fact that with Sonoma you can choose how you appear in video calls with new zoom and move commands. It will be useful to show something during the call, but you can return to the center at any time. It seems that this feature is compatible with third-party apps as well.
The green button at the top left of windows now has a new option in its dropdown menu. When you hover over that button, it offers you some quick alignment choices, as well as the ability to quickly move an app window to another screen in your configuration. With Sonoma, you will too share that window during a video call.
The other news
You can transfer your notes into Pages, to send your work to the Pages app to continue there. Also, high-performance mode for screen sharing comes to Sonoma, which is very useful if you’re using Macs remotely over a fast connection.
Sonoma supports hearing aids Made for iPhone e Personal Voice. In addition to this, Sonoma also introduces some accessibility innovations, such as the text size adjustment, automatic pausing of animated images on the web, and a revamped interface for Mac voice control.
Apple Mail gets updated with emojis and travel. With Sonoma, Mail will show your travel-related emails at the top of search results as the date approaches. Also, you can add big emojis to your messages, to make your emails more fun.
What’s new in watchOS
Apple has presented several new features for Apple Watch, from cycling to hiking, passing through many health features. WatchOS 10 compatibility is Apple Watch Series 4 and later only. Watches that support watchOS 9 will be able to receive the update. Among the news:
- Il Control Center now opens by pressing the side key, instead of showing open apps.
- Mobile device management (MDM) now supports Apple Watch. This allows corporate customers to configure VPN, deploy internal apps and other functions.
- The ability to participate in a Group FaceTime with Apple Watch. It can be used just the audiosince there is no camera on the watch.
- I Apple Maps downloads now work on Apple Watch. But you have to be close to your iPhone.
- Medication reminders now have follow-up notifications and can be set as “critical” alerts.
- I Recorded FaceTime video messages now they can be seen on Apple Watch.
The new operating systems are available to all developers from today, totally free (a change from the past). But not all the news will come to users this fall – as usual, Apple may take longer for some features.
