Among the great releases of this year we can certainly also include Starfield, a title developed by Bethesda in an exclusive Microsoft console: but will it ever arrive on PS5?
When it comes to exclusives, many gamers get sad. This is because, obviously, not everyone is allowed to own at least one console for each company, often for simple economic reasons. We often forget, however, that really exclusives are what make the market exciting, and for one simple reason: they create competition. Each publisher aims to do better, to create better and this can only do good for us gamers in the first place. And let’s talk about one of the most awaited exclusives of this year: let’s talk about Starfield.
Starfield on PS5? Don’t really expect it…
Following the recent Xbox Showcase which shed a lot of light on Starfield, the public has returned to asking itself that simple yet so debated question: will the Bethesda title ever arrive on PS5? The answer is very quick: no. We will explain why in the next few lines, although most likely, if you are passionate about the sector, you will already know the answer.
Starfield is published by Bethesda Softworks, a Zenimax company. The latter was acquired (not without controversy, as is now happening with Activision Blizzard) by Microsoft itself during 2021. Therefore, being Sony a direct competitor of the Redmond house, with Nintendo continuing to play in a separate league as well as entire PC department, it is self-evident to understand why Bethesda’s biggest release in years won’t come to a Sony console.
So no, no PS5 for Starfield. The game will be released exclusively on PC and consoles on September 6, 2023.
