It took place Tuesday 20 Juneat the “Enzo and Dino Ferrari” racetrack the presentation of third edition of Suzuki Bike Day #3which will be held in Imola next July 8th and which will give participants the opportunity to experience an unforgettable day of passion for the pedal in total safety.
Bike Day, Suzuki’s day for shared mobility
In the presence of institutions, partners and the press, Suzuki illustrated the details of this new edition to those present. The Imola circuit will be the starting point and headquarters of the Village del Suzuki Bike Day, representing the perfect place to celebrate the combination of the world of engines and that of the bicycle. Imola has a special place in the history of motoring, on two and four wheels, and has also been the scene of epic cycling challenges.
Two were held in its territory Road World Championships, that of 1968, won by Vittorio Adorni, and that of 2020. Suzuki, by confirming the event, stands alongside the local populations by supporting the recovery of economic activities and providing concrete support to those who will have to rebuild what was damaged by the water.
Bike Day, a holistic vision of mobility
Someone might perhaps wonder why a car manufacturer promotes an initiative in favor of bicycles, even closing the road to the same vehicles it sells. Suzuki is convinced that it is essential to overcome the opposition between the protagonists of mobility and more generally, on the basis of what was declared by the President di Suzuki Motor Corporation Toshihiro Suzuki as part of Suzuki’s 2021-2022 Sustainability Report, the Casa di Hamamatsu embraces a holistic vision of the entire environment in which today’s and above all tomorrow’s mobility develops. This will not only be the result of a technological evolution but of a rethinking of spaces as a place that all users will have to share in mutual respect.
In addition to this, the Hamamatsu House does not forget its past in the pedal world. Today it does not produce bicycles but its debut in the field of individual transport took place in 1952 with a motorized bicycle, the Power Free.
The route of Suzuki Bike Day #3
Who will take part in the Suzuki Bike Day 2023 he will have the opportunity to try his hand in absolute safety on a unique route and to live an extraordinary experience. The track is a 41.3 km ring which includes the asphalt of the Imola F1 circuit, a privilege normally reserved for professional riders and cyclists, and the route used for the 1968 world championship trial, with the climbs of the “ Tre Monti” and the Galisterna peak, after tackling the Mazzolano climb from Riolo Terme in the direction of Imola, tackling a total altitude difference of 710 meters e maximum slopes of 16%.
Three refreshment points where you can refresh yourself during the tour: one in the racetrack, one on the Mazzolano slope and one on the Galisterna peak. This figure shouldn’t worry the less trained: the event is not competitive and anyone can participate in the Suzuki Bike Day, with any type of bicycle, muscle or pedal assisted.
How to sign up
Registration for the 3rd Suzuki Bike Day is done through the ENDU portal by following a simple guided procedure.
Two choices will be possible:
– registration fee of € 5entirely donated to charity in favor of Dynamo Camp – the first Recreational Therapy camp in Italy for children suffering from serious or chronic diseases – which anyone can however freely raise, depending on their generosity
– fee of € 20 which includes, in addition to the registration fee donated to charity to Dynamo Camp (possibly increaseable), the exclusive Alè Cycling technical jersey, designed by the Suzuki Style Center which is inspired by the flowering of hydrangeas which is celebrated in Japan in the month of July and establishes an ideal twinning between the Japanese Motor Valley in which Hamamatsu is located and the Italian one.

And there’s another great reason to be more generous than ever. After the floods of recent weeks Suzuki has announced that it will pay the same amount reached in favor of the Dynamo Camp to the Emilia-Romagna Region for the benefit of the populations affected by the bad weather. Entries will also be possible on the day of the event, at the Autodromo, where those who want to avoid queues can collect their bib on the previous day, Friday 7 July, from 17.30 to 19.30.
