Among the many questions surrounding The Brave and The Bold, we can be sure of one thing: George Clooney will not be Batman
Times will still be quite a long time before being able to witness The Brave and The Bold, the film that will focus on the story of Batman’s faithful companion: Robin. To date we only know that the film will be directed by Andy Muschietti, but we don’t have a cast because the production is still looking for the right actors. However, a rumor had spread in the following weeks, which made way for the hypothesis that George Clooney could return to play the role of Batman. He intervened on the matter James Gunn.

Faced with these rumors, the director, screenwriter, producer, film James Gunn wanted to clarify the issue, through a post on social media. His answer was very clear, claiming right away that no, George Clooney won’t be playing Batman in the new project. It was Gunn himself, also co-president, co-administrator and creative director of DC Studios who instilled this doubt in the fans. In fact, only a few months ago, on the occasion of the release of The Flash, in releasing some statements regarding the new projects in the pipeline, he had confessed:
Everything from Superman: Legacy onward will be canon and will be connected. We’re using some actors from the past. Others we have decided not to use, but everything from that moment on will be connected and coherent.
Faced with these words, the fans were right to think of a return of Clooney, yet it will not be so. But then who will play the role of superhero? The answer, to date, is not there. Just Gunn has made it known that he will still be quite a while before knowing the face that will play him. Bringing back his words, we’re “miles and miles away” from character choice.
