As many expected, the Barbie movie is getting a huge success, the release in Italy has set a new box office record
That the Barbie makers have adopted a brilliant marketing strategy is probably there for all to see, we can now confirm that this has proved to be an extremely effective tactic. A few days after its release, the film by Greta Gerwig isn’t set several box office records; the Italian one is not excluded.

Well yes, even Italy has fallen under the power of Barbie, causing the film to slip into first place at the box office. In the first day of programming, the film managed to collect well 2.178.000 €; the most successful box office opening, for 2023. But that’s not all, because the warm reception of the public has allowed the film to record numerous other goals, including the best debut after the pandemic and the best debut of a film directed by a female director. Barbie has already left its mark on the careers of the leading actors, given that it is the film that achieved the greatest success at her debut, both among those in which Margot Robbie is present, and in those with Ryan Gosling.
So far, Barbie has managed to gather around itself as well 284,000 spectatorswhich took place in over 600 cinemas, in which the film has been, and will probably continue for weeks, to be broadcast. Now we await the following days, to understand how far its success can go and above all, waiting to know the numbers of another film, of a completely different kind, to be released on August 23rd, Oppenheimer. The two new releases, although so different from each other, have given rise to a marketing campaign that has always juxtaposed them, in a joking way, creating a real trend, which has certainly benefited both.
