After more than one hundred days of strike, the negotiating table with Hollywood screenwriters and producers has been reopened
Glimpses of negotiation between the screenwriters and the producers who have been on strike for months now could unblock the situation of the stalled productions. The workers of the cinema world have returned to the table of bargaining proposing a solution to the problem that is keeping cinema in check today. Which is a big step forward, after more than a hundred days of stalemate and increased tension through press releases and cross-statements.
At the end of the day, the note from the Writers Guild of America (WGA) explains that the Alliance of film and TV producers presented itself to the negotiation for the renewal of the three-year contract of the writers with a counter-proposal, with respect to the requests made by the union of the workers. These requests, which essentially consist of wage increases, guarantees on the use of artificial intelligence e a system more favorable to creatives in calculating royalties for streaming workshad been rejected by the producers, thus initiating a strike on 2 May which, according to experts, has already destroyed 3 billion dollars.

A statement from the workers’ union says the proposals will be evaluated and, after extensive deliberation, there will be a response next week.
