The Oxford plant is the first plant to be followed by a global rollout within the BMW Group. From now on, more factories will be added to the global production network every year, until everyone speaks the same language. As part of our digitalisation and harmonization strategy, this new solution allows us to connect relevant data on products, processes, quality and costs, enabling consistency and transparency of information throughout the production chain.

Thomas Saueressigmember of the Executive Board of SAP SE and responsible for the SAP Product Engineering area, underlined the importance of process digitalization in the automotive industry and highlighted the long-standing partnership between the BMW Group and SAP, which led to this joint implementation of cloud logistics solutions.

This allows for greater standardization and greatly improves flexibility in staff support and training.
