After months of mystery, Netflix has finally released the brand new teaser trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge

For those who still don’t know what it’s about, it’s worth remembering that Squid Game: The Challenge is a competition born after the great success of the series. It’s about a race, fought by 456 competitorsready for any challenge, just to win a prize pool equal to 4.56 million dollars. To make the show, Netflix sought participants from all over the world, ready to do anything to “survive” any competition; carefully monitored, as in the series, by guards with a hidden identity.
Already from the trailer we can see how much this new show draws heavily from the TV series, to begin with from the long colorful corridors, to the uniforms of the competitors and guards, to the settings of the different games. It really feels like you’re in the original show. Clearly the rules are different and each losing competitor will be entitled to simple elimination and not death. However, this was not enough to appease some discontent.
Controversies
Despite the obvious change of rules of the program compared to the original series, there was no shortage of controversies, complained by many players. They have in fact reported it inhumane conditions on set, mainly due to the great cold and the preferential treatment that the organizers had towards some participating influencers. Squid Game: The Challenge will debut on the Netflix streaming platform on November 22, 2023.
