Spotify announced a new feature, powered by the artificial intelligence of OpenAI: Voice Translationthe automatic translation of podcasts. This new function, currently being tested, allows you to translate what is said into another language using the digital version of the presenter’s voice.

Voice translation for podcasts translates podcasts into other languages using the original author’s voice. This means that listeners all over the world will enjoy an authentic listening experience, regardless of the original language of the podcast.
What makes this feature even more interesting is the partnership between Spotify and OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. Thanks to this collaboration, the voice translated it will retain the unique characteristics of the original speaker’s voice.
Spotify also announced an impressive list of popular podcasters participating in this pilot. Among the well-known names are Dax Shepard, Monica Padman, Lex Fridman, Bill Simmons e Steven Bartlett. Initially, the voice translation functionality will only be available in Spanishbut Spotify has promised that it will add additional languages in the coming days and weeks, including the French and the tedesco.

Spotify revealed that more than 100 million people they regularly listen to podcasts on its streaming platform. And this number could increase, now that machine translation could further broaden the audience.
