At EICMA 2022 the Mina it had only been presented as a prototype. During the year, the engineering team of Engines Engineering and the team Kapriony they worked to make all the changes and improvements necessary to make it work, giving life to the definitive version of the Caprions Mina.
And the model, unique for now, is today exhibited at EICMA 2023 for the entire duration of the fair, in Pavilion 22 – Stand P03. Now the goal is to bring the rally bike to be the protagonist of the Africa Eco Race, the race that crosses Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal with the finish line in Dakar.
This is a real evolution of Ducati Desert Xprepared specifically for rallies and which, if successful during the Africa Eco Race, is destined to become a conversion kit.
Features and modifications
There are various interventions carried out by Engines Engineering for the preparation of the motorbike. Of these, the most impactful are the fully adjustable fork and shock with 300mm of travel front and rear.
The swingarm is machined from solid and designed using FEM analysis techniques and advanced optimizers, to reduce weight without losing rigidity. The braking system, initially intended for asphalt, is suitable for the sandy and dirt roads found in the African desert and, more generally, on rally tracks.
To modify the system of Caprions Mina only one disc was mounted instead of two. The wheels, however, have special hubs and specific tyres.
A control unit was then used Engines Engineering with specific desert calibration and the possibility of selecting three maps depending on the road surface conditions.
From an ergonomic point of view, the seat has been significantly modified, raising the handlebars and tightening the saddle-tank area to facilitate movements.
The fuel system with three tanks has a capacity of 38 litres, to which is added the installation of roadbooks and safety systems mandatory for rally competitions.

Kapriony Mina: the next steps
As already mentioned, the Caprions Mina is exposed to EICMA 2023 and it is a real novelty for enthusiasts. Waiting to test its performance at the rally Africa Eco Racethe future holds great events for Engines Engineering.
The future program includes the sale of conversion kits for the motorcycle presented at EICMA 2023 and the replica of the racing bike.
