Nothingthe London-based consumer technology brand, announces the launch of Nothing Chats, the first end-to-end encrypted messaging solution from a mobile company. Become the first company to make Apple’s iMessage compatible with Android devices.
iMessage on Android: word of Nothing Chats
Starting November 17, when the app will be available for download on the Google Play Store, text messages sent directly from Nothing Phone (2) they can be delivered with a blue bubble (compared to the traditional Android green) typical of iMessage to any iPhone. Nothing Chats aims to break down communication barriers linked to the incompatibility of the messaging platform.
“At Nothing, we are committed to bridging the gap between people and technology. We understand that the blue bubble versus green bubble dilemma, especially in North America, while seemingly ridiculous, is real. Nothing Chats allows freedom of communication between anyone. Regardless of the brand of smartphone, and that’s how it should be,” he said Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing. “We want to remind consumers that they have a choice when it comes to choosing their device. Their daily behaviors should not be dictated by any company.”

Nothing Chats is currently available in beta. It offers RCS users a number of iMessage features. Including P2P and group messaging, high-resolution media sharing, and read and delivery receipts with more coming in the future.
Nothing collaborated with Sunbird, a US technology company specializing in cross-platform Android and web messaging, to develop the new feature. Built on Sunbird’s architecture, all Chats messages are end-to-end encrypted so users can feel confident in the safety of their messages.
Availability
Nothing Chats sarà available available for download on the Google Play Store for Phone (2) users in the US, Canada, UK, EU and other European countries, including Norway and Switzerland, starting November 17.
