SIXT e Stellar have announced a multi-billion dollar deal: SIXT is committed to purchasing up to 250,000 vehicles Stellantis for its rental fleet in Europe and North America over the next three years. The first deliveries, expected as early as the first quarter of 2024, will include a wide range of vehicles from Stellantis brands, including Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, Vauxhall e Maserati.

This offers a diverse choice of segments, from urban vehicles to SUVs, from vans to minivans. Furthermore, it also includes a variety of engine types, including i battery electric vehicles. An innovative aspect of this partnership is the integration of Mobilisights, Stellantis’ data as a service (DaaS) business. Mobilisights will provide data packages for building and licensing business-to-business products, applications and services. Something that could help expand the agreement to other regions as well.

A green push
The companies frame this agreement in the context of environmental sustainability, which they both say they care a lot about. In the strategic plan Dare Forward 2030Stellantis aims to achieve the 100% battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales mix in Europe by 2030. SIXT, on the other hand, wants to significantly reduce the CO2 footprint of its rental fleet. The goal is to have 70-90% of vehicles electrified in Europe by 2030.
