After six seasons, the series Better Call Saul starring Bob Odenkirk failed to win even a statuette at the Emmys, despite numerous nominations
With the dominance of The Bear and Succession at the 2024 Emmy Awards, Better Call Saul’s run for the coveted statuette has officially ended. The result for the show, however, is nothing short of incredible: 53 nominations after six seasons and not even one win. The Breaking Bad spin-off has in fact managed to win the hearts of fans of the main show, always under the guidance of Vince Gilliganand above all he stood out for his perfectionist direction and the astonishing performances of a cast that knew how to enhance a Bob Odenkirk in great shape.
His Saul Goodman, born as a simple comic sketch in the mother series, acquired a Shakespearean drama over the course of the six and unrepeatable seasons of Better Call Saul, aided by the skill of Rhea Seehorn, interpreter of the character of Kim Wexler, who also became unforgettable. A huge success with critics and the public, which gave us one of the best TV products of recent years.
Better Call Saul: not even a win at the Emmy Awards despite the 53 nominations received
Without taking anything away from series like The Bear and Succession, which truly express the best of today’s television world, capable of dueling on equal terms with that of cinema for several years now, an award for Better Call Saul would have cemented its esteem in the comparisons of this show born as an offshoot of one of the most important series of the last 20 years at least. Yet this year wasn’t the right one either, confirming a curse that is now incredible. Certainly the lack of recognition does not affect the value of Better Call Saul, which remains without a doubt one of the best series of the last decade.
