Romeo is Juliet: the plot of the new film
The theater director Federico Landi Porrini, played by Sergio Castellitto, is looking for the perfect protagonists for the work that should mark the pinnacle of his career. Among the aspiring actresses, Vittoria, played by Pilar Fogliati, stands out, but her candidacy is compromised by a mysterious secret in her past. Determined to demonstrate her talent and still get a role in the theater production, Vittoria, with the help of her makeup artist friend (Geppy Cucciari), decides to try his luck under a false identity. Thus was born Otto Novembre, who proposed himself for the role of Romeo, winning the desired part.
The plot develops hilariously when Vittoria’s boyfriend, played by Domenico Diele, he was chosen for the role of Mercutio. Taking on her male role will give her the opportunity to explore new aspects of herself and discover unexpected facets in the people around her, both on stage and behind the scenes.
