Jurassic World will return to the cinema with a sequel, written by screenwriter David Koepp, who wrote the first Jurassic Park
The world is not yet ready to say goodbye to the dinosaurs of Jurassic World: two years after the last chapter of the saga, Dominion, Universal Pictures has confirmed that the screenwriter David Kopp is working on the sequel. Koepp was already the screenwriter of the first Jurassic Park, directed by Steven Spielberg.
In fact, it would seem that the Universal Pictures studio is engaged in the development of a new chapter in the Jurassic World saga and the project is already at a good point, so much so that a possible release date in 2025. At the moment, no director has been announced for the film, but the production is entrusted to several veterans of the franchise: from Frank Marshallformer supervisor of the Jurassic World trilogy, a Patrick Crowley and at the same Steven Spielberg who through his production company, Amblin Entertainment, will act as executive producer.

According to sources, the film will launch a new Jurassic era and will have a completely new plot, thus suggesting that the characters we saw in the sequel trilogy will be excluded, Chris Pratt e Bryce Dallas Howard, despite the former having declared on more than one occasion that he is ready to return to the role of Owen Grady for other films in the franchise. Likewise, the return of the three protagonists of the first Jurassic Park, played by Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.
Given these assumptions, it is likely that the new film will not be a reboot, but will allow us to explore and delve deeper into what the ending of Dominion had shown, namely the coexistence of humans and dinosaurs on Earth. The Jurassic Park franchise has been pivotal in the history of Universal Pictures: the 6 films made have grossed more than 6 billion dollars worldwide, despite not always positive criticism. Who knows if the choice to start again with a new story and with the screenwriter of the first two films on board will prove to be a winning strategy.
