Here are the first images and the trailer of Monkey Man, Dev Patel’s first film as director with Jordan Peele producing
English actor Dev Patel, star of films such as Slumdog Millionaire and Lion, made his debut behind the camera with an action thriller which saw Jordan Peele involved as a producer. He became famous throughout the world after playing the title role in Slumdog Millionaire Danny Boylenominated for an Oscar for his performance in Lion, and recently seen in some of the shorts that Wes Anderson based on the stories of Roald Dahl, Dev Patel made his directorial debut.
The film he directed, of which we show you the Italian trailer below, is called Monkey Man, counts on the contribution of Jordan Peele as a producer, and is a action thriller that tells a story of revenge: that of a man who decides to act against some corrupt political leaders who killed his mother and who continue to make victims among the poor and the least in society. Scheduled for release in the US on April 5, the film is set in Indiathe country of origin of Patel’s family, was written by the new director himself and also stars Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Adithi Kalkunte, Sikandar Kher and Makarand Deshpande.

Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon who embodies strength and courage, Monkey Man sees Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who makes a living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more famous fighters in exchange for money. After years of suppressing his anger, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the city’s sinister elite enclave. Driven by his childhood trauma, Kid will unleash an explosive revenge with his mysteriously scarred hands to settle scores with the men who took everything from him.
