After Grounded, Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves closes the circle of former Xbox exclusives: here is the release date of the title on PS5
After the confirmations ofexit outside of Xbox regarding Grounded and Repentance and the arrival on PS5 by Hi-Fi Rush, Sony fans will now be able to enjoy the docking of Sea of Thieves on the platform of the cobalt titan, complete with data. The four former Xbox exclusives, not announced in that fateful livestream, are now known and all match the previous rumors. The day concerned, in this case, is April 30th. Just like Grounded, the title will support the crossplay. The post on the official Xbox blog declares the four games as the first exclusives to arrive on other platforms, to the point of pushing Rare to release the video about it which you can find below.
The release date of Sea of Thieves on PS5
Spring, therefore, becomes greener than usual, even on the blue and red consoles: Today Pentiment comes out on all platforms, while the release date for Hi-Fi Rush on PS5 is March 19th, that of Sea of Thieves on the same console is April 30th and finally Grounded will arrive on the 16th of that month. In terms of exclusives, Phil Spencer defined the “case by case” approach toexclusivity like the future, which contrary to rumors does not foresee the same for Starfield or Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle. “As an industry,” Spencer told The Verge, “I don’t think we should ever assume that a game won’t release on other platforms.” The jovial Xbox boss also came out in favor of the physical formatdenying the rumors about their abandonment. Limited Run Games has confirmed physical releases for Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush. Geoff Keighley, meanwhile, noted that Sea of Thieves is officially Rare’s first game on Sony consoles.
Fun history bit: In its 39 year history, Rare has never published a game for PlayStation — Nintendo had an ownership stake in the company until it was purchased by Microsoft.
