The new Games of Thrones spin-off appears to be coming out in 2025, according to Q4 earnings calls.
It seems that there is an intention to do so the next Games of Thrones spin-off is coming out next year. In fact, during the fourth quarter earnings video conference held last week, David Zaslav, the head of Warner Bros Discovery announced that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will premiere in late 2025. The official announcement of the prequel’s release had already been made last spring, in April 2023. The prequel series will be written and executive produced by Martin and Ira Parker. Also serving as executive producers are Vince Gerardis and Ryan Condal, who is also currently showrunner of House of the Dragon.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, what we know about the new Games of Thrones spin-off expected in 2025
The official synopsis explains that the new spin-off will be set a century before the events of Games of Thrones. The plot will revolve around two unlikely heroes who wander Westeros. It concerns a young, brave, but naive knight, Ser Duncan the Tall (aka Dunk) and his little squire, Egg. The events will take place in a time when the Targaryen dynasty still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon is still vivid in people’s memories. Powerful enemies and dangerous undertakings will be at stake. Great destinies await these two inseparable friends. The second season of House of the Dragon will precede A Knight of the Seven Kingdomsin fact the series is expected for the summer of 2024.
