If the numerous releases in recent months have brought you closer to the world of live-action, a new surprise is coming for you. In fact, a new one has been published teaser trailersubtitled in English, dedicated to Parasyte: The Grey, the South Korean adaptation of the Parasyte manga, by Hitoshi Iwaaki. Here’s what we know about it.

Parasyte: The Gray tells of Jeon, a woman whose adverse fate leads her to be attacked by a parasite. Despite the infection, the foreign agent will not be able to completely take over Jeon, as it will not be able to enter her brain. For the woman it will be the beginning of a bizarre “coexistence” with the unwanted guest. Meanwhile, Seol Kang-woo is desperately searching for his missing younger sister; to do this a tough fight against parasites will begin.
In the cast Jeon So-nee, Koo Kyo-hwan, Lee Jung-hyun. We will also see in the series Kwon Hae-hyo e Kim In-kwon, in still mysterious roles. TO Yeon Sang-ho (already famous for having directed the zombie-movie Train to Busan) the task of directing the project and writing the screenplay, alongside Ryu Yong-jaefamous for having also written Money Heist: Korea.
Teaser and release date
Despite being based on an existing manga, Parasyte: The Gray will tell a new story. The original manga, by Hitoshi Iwaaki, released between 1990 and 1995, was published in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine. As in the live-action, the manga tells of a world in which some alien beings, called Parasites, arrive on Earth and begin to take over humans, entering through their noses and ears and attaching themselves to their brains. In the action-packed teaser trailer, you can get to the heart of the story, immediately discovering how adrenaline-filled this show promises to be. The new adaptation will be available on Netflix from April 5thwhen Parasyte: The Gray will be available worldwide, with new episodes available, until June.
