A month after Madame Web’s failed cinema debut, Sony Pictures has surprisingly announced its digital arrival in various stores: let’s discover all the details together in this dedicated article
Among the most recent failures of the Marvel Cinematic Universe we can easily include Madame Web, which despite the good premises and some interesting trailers turned out to be a gigantic flop at the box office. Available from February 14th in cinemas produced by Sony Pictures, Madame Web is set in a different universe from that of Venom and Morbius and stars Dakota Johnson and Sydeny Sweeney. Even though not even a month has passed since it arrived at the cinema, Sony still decided to make the film available digitally, thus starting to reduce broadcasts in cinemas. And so yes: Madame Web is available digitally in American stores (for now there is no news for the Italian ones, so equip yourself with a VPN if you want), awaiting the arrival also on home video scheduled for April 30th. Madame Web is available digitally in various American stores less than a month after its theatrical release
The digital version of Madame Web will contain some extra digital content, including a gag reel, some Easter eggs, deleted scenes and featurettes. Unfortunately, the film did not have a good response from either the critics or the public and debuted at the box office with a negative record of 17.6 million dollars, even surpassing the highly criticized Morbius which debuted with $39.1 million. In total, to date, Madame Web has grossed around $96 million, but it cost at least $100.
The synopsis of the film is as follows:
Madame Web tells the origin story of one of Marvel Comics’ most enigmatic heroines. The suspenseful thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a Manhattan paramedic who may have clairvoyant powers. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forms a bond with three young women destined for a powerful future, if they can all survive a deadly present.
