Five Nights At Freddy's 2 is a reality, the highest-grossing Blumhouse film ever will have a sequel
After the incredible success ofhorror Five Nights At Freddy's, based on the video game, Blumhouse has announced that a sequel will be made. The news was confirmed this week during CinemaCon in Las Vegas directly by the cinema giant Universal. The sequel announcement isn't actually a huge surprise. In fact, the first film broke box office records to become the highest-grossing Blumhouse film ever. Five Nights At Freddy's has grossed more than $290 million globally. The first film was directed by Emma Tammi and starred Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard. Jim Henson's Creature Shop put a lot of work into spooky animatronics. It's probably one of the reasons why he managed to achieve such high numbers at the box office.
Five Nights At Freddy's 2 what we know about the sequel to the best grossing Blumhouse
Obviously it's still early to know anything about Five Nights at Freddy's 2, therefore it is not yet clear whether the original director and cast will return. We can't even know if Scott Cawthon, creator of the series, will be involved. The only thing that can be said with certainty is that the sequel will be released in fall 2025. The film had been in the works for some time. But Scott Cawthon was very protective of the script so the development process took a long time, but in the end Five Nights at Freddy's was also a success with critics. The creator himself was sitting in the room among the fans and was able to experience firsthand the success that went far beyond what he had hoped for.
