Mercedes once again failed to light up in the race, but the first updates will arrive from Miami to revive the W15
The initial season of Mercedes with the W15 which did not live up to expectationswith the car showing obvious weaknesses on various occasions, especially in performance at low speeds. Toto Wolff, the Team Principal, expressed disappointment with the results achieved so far and admitted that the car needs substantial improvements. The German team faced significant challenges in setting up the car, with track and simulator correlation issues slowing development. However, Mercedes has announced plans to introduce important updates during the Miami Grand Prix to try to reverse the trend.
According to the team principal This is Wolff, the improvements in high-speed cornering have had some success, as confirmed by the performance at Suzuka, but this has been achieved at the expense of low-speed performance. The Team Principal indicated that the goal is to find a better balance between performance in the different types of corners.
The first update package for the W15 is arriving in Miami
For the Miami Grand Prix, Mercedes plans to introduce a package of significant updates which should represent a step forward for the W15. However, the competition does not stand still, with McLaren and Ferrari also plan to bring new updates. The hope is that these improvements can help resolve the set-up problems and make the car more competitive in the next races of the season. It remains to be seen how the W15 will respond to the updates and whether Mercedes will be able to catch up on its rivals at the Miami circuit.
The update package should be of interest the bottom area to correct the flow trend as well as that of side pod with probable “re-shaping” of the shapes to gain a few additional cubic centimeters.
