One Piece second season, rumors hypothesizing the start date of filming and, consequently, when the new episodes of the Netflix series will be available
Six months have passed since the confirmation of the second season of One Piece. This is the Netflix adaptation of the very famous manga by Eiichiro Oda. The One Piece Netflix series has surpassed the previous records of series such as Stranger Things and Wednesday. However, there have been very few updates on the making of the series. All we know is that the writers have been hard at work on new episodes and Oda himself has anticipated that in the new season there will also be the arrival of Tony Tony Chopper, the anthropomorphic reindeer destined to become the ship's doctor of the pirate crew of Straw Hat. Now there are two updates that seem to announce the approach of the filming date. The first refers to the entry of Joe Tracz into the teamreplacing Steven Maeda as co-showrunner, alongside Matt Owens.
One Piece season two starts filming in June 2024
Tracz has already worked on several Netflix series such as Dash & Lily and A Series of Unfortunate Events, while more recently we saw his work in the popular Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Tracz himself stated that he was really excited to have been involved in One Piece and to be a true fan of Oda. Meanwhile, there is the hypothesis that filming could begin in South Africa in June this year and will continue for a good seven months, also targeting Spain and Mexico as locations. Should we have confirmation of the dates for we will have to wait for the release of the second season until the end of 2025 or even the beginning of 2026. Nothing has yet been revealed regarding the new entries in the cast.
