Sony recently released a new update his PlayStation 5, making incredible changes to the console – from friends list, to trophies, and other interesting features. Let’s find out all the details together.

Sony released the latest update for the PlayStation 5 on April 13, 2022, but it was actually released in two parts: the Version: 22.01-05.00.00 and the Version: 22.01-05.02.00 (which improved some system performance).
First, in the update Version: 22.01-05.00.00 A number of changes have been made to the Game Base. According to the patch notes, voice chats on PS5 are now call partyand the Game Base itself has been divided into three tabs: Friends, Party e Messages. Here are further details:
- Voice chats are now call party;
- For easier access, Sony has divided the Game Base into three tabs: Friends, Party e Messages;
- From the PlayStation 5 Game Base control menu and tabs, you can now:
- View all friends under the Friends tab in the control menu;
- To boot Share Play directly from the voice chat tab. It is no longer necessary to start Share Screen to use Share Play;
- Add a player to a group or create a new group directly from the message board. You can also send video clips, images, quick messages and view shared media of a group from this tab.
- When someone shares their screen within a group, you will see the icon on air. You can check it in the Party tab;
- The player search function and friend requests are now under the Friends tab;
- You can decline friend requests in an easier way: a Reject button to your friend request list.
Second part of the update
As for the second part of the update, in terms of accessibility Sony has also added a number of new features to the PS5including the adjustments to the screen reader (which now supports six additional languages), theaudio mono for headphones and more.
- The screen reader supports six additional languages: Russian, Arabic, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish and Korean;
- The screen reader can now read aloud notifications;
- You can now enable theaudio mono for headphones so that the same audio is played by both left and right headphones:
- While the headphones are connected, go up [Impostazioni] > [Suono] > [Uscita audio] and then activate [Audio mono per le cuffie]. Alternatively, go to [Impostazioni] > [Accessibilità] > [Display e suoni] and then activate [Audio mono per cuffie].
- Now you can activate the check mark on enabled settings:
- Go up [Impostazioni] > [Accessibilità] > [Display e suoni] and then activate [Mostra il segno di spunta sulle impostazioni abilitate].
Finally, PlayStation added two new features to PS5 trophies. Among them we find the update of the visual design of trophy cards and of trophy list. There is also theenabling suggestions trophies on the trophy tracker when playing. Finally, Sony also added support for the Ukrainian language and changed the voice commands.
