Abandon all hope of reasoning, you who enter: fans are clinging to every clue that connects Hideo Kojima to Abandoned
Don’t be subdued by the conspiracy theories put together by fans of Hideo Kojima: until proven otherwise no, Abandoned still not his stuff. However, to guarantee everyone a bit of sanity, we decided to put together the various coincidences that gamers are finding (somewhat by force) regarding the Dutch development team exclusivity BlueBox Game Studios expected on PS5 exclusively. There really is something for everyone, and we have seen fit to summarize this slaughterhouse.
Abandoned: a game by Hideo Kojima… but also not
Let’s start with the “bloody snowflakes” that BlueBlox Game Studios alludes to among the features of Abandoned in their Twitter profile, and how they connect with Hideo Kojima. In his time, the director Guillermo Del Toro he used this unusual expression to define the now defunct project Silent Hills. The revival of Konami was then, on balance, abandoned. Among other coincidences (which remain so) the name of one of the developers comes out, Hassan Hero. The initials are identical, and the surname translates into Japanese as “Hideo”. This should make Kahraman’s a pseudonym in the eyes of fans.
Alright after several hours going down the rabbit hole I am no longer 100% convinced it’s Kojima (could very well be someone crafting all these coincidences to build buzz) but no matter what happens this will remain one of the most entertaining video game stories of the year
– Jason Schreier (@jasonschreier) June 18, 2021
The delusion continues with the friendship between Kojima and Geoff “The Game Awards” Keighley. The latter recently started following the BlueBox Game Studios account, suspiciously still without official website. The fact that Keighley publicly shared Kahraman’s private message in which the latter asked him to manage the official reveal of the game convinced the journalist. Jason Schreier to support the theory. Schreier then denied his support in the tweet you find above. We do not know if the Dutch flag or Sam Porter’s blue suit (Blue) in the box (Box) during the reveal of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut are further “clues”. But reporting this hallucinogenic trip was fun.
