Blue Box Studios returns to talk about Abandoned, hinting at 2022 as the release period of the prologue and the tech demo of the game
Among the highlights of 2021, one of those that caused the most sensation within the videogame community is probably the revelation of Abandoned. It is about a mysterious title from every point of view, of which almost nothing is known but which despite this has created an enormous aura of curiosity around itself on the part of gamers, who have given rise to expectations and rumors of all kinds.
These expectations, however, have led to infuriate users, also driven by a marketing managed in a rather disastrous way that has given rise to numerous controversies. While on his Twitter account Hasan Kahraman, the founder of Blue Box Studios, wanted to make one last announcement before the arrival of the new year, talking about the attitude of users towards the studio, on the official website a new post announces a tech demo and a prologue coming in a release period set for 2022.
The 2022 of Abandoned: immediately the release of the tech demo and the prologue
Within the new post published, we retrace the steps taken by the studio in the course of 2021. The development of Abandoned was only announced in April, and since then the team faced a large number of difficulties regarding the making of the title. It is a work in production since 2017, which has undergone numerous and profound changes, and the studio admits that being at work on this project as well as other minor games was a choice that they should not have made. In early 2021, it was decided to put all of its strength on Abandoned, but the teaser first shown in the spring did not respect the vision of the creators, leading them to rework the entire game.

Then other missteps followed, with the chaotic launch and postponement of the Realtime Experience application for PS5 which was supposed to show Abandoned and the technology of the game. The studio says it does not want to repeat these mistakes, and sets new goals as early as 2022. Blue Box intends to release a new tech demo that demonstrates Abandoned’s technology in the way it should have done in August. showing not only the graphics, but also the audio sector and the feedback given by the PS5 DualSense controllers, which will help to give an extra layer of realism and immersion within the horror experience. In addition to the tech demo, since the release of the game seems to be “around the corner”, a prologue to Abandoned is also hinted at, with a release period scheduled for early 2022.
