The movie, who sees German actress Sandra Hüller stars absolute, has been described by our Mauro Donzelli as a procedural drama and thriller about the misunderstandings of a love affair between people of different countries and languages, telling the story of a fatal accident and a couple who come together through the trial of a woman suspected of murdering her husband.

Sandra, a German writer, lives with her husband Samuel and their blind son Daniel in a remote mountain chalet in the French Alps. When Samuel dies under mysterious circumstances, the investigation cannot determine whether it was a suicide or not. Eventually Sandra is arrested for murder and the trial exposes the tumultuous relationship she had with her husband, as well as her own ambiguous personality. Things get complicated when even the young son comes to the witness stand…
