Bad news for Andor fans: the release of the new season seems to have been delayed. Here’s what we know
The second season of Andor it is certainly among the most anticipated productions of the new year. Millions of fans are in fact curious to know how the adventures of Cassian Andor, taken from the universe of Star Wars, they will continue with new and exciting episodes. Too bad that, to find out what this new season has in store for us, we will have to wait longer than we thought. In fact, it would seem that Andor is not scheduled among Disney’s 2024 releases. Very strange thing, at least judging by what was announced in the past at the Star Wars Celebration, which had set the release date of the new season in August 2024. The arrival would instead be set, for the moment, for 2025.
An expanding world | Andor: delay in the release of the new season
Andor was a great discovery for fans of the world of Star Wars, which has had the opportunity to expand its boundaries even further through this series. The adventures of Cassian Andor and his journey from thief to revolutionary were welcomed with enthusiasm by the Disney Plus audience, who managed to get their hands on a world that is still much loved. This is also thanks to a good cast, starting with the protagonist, Diego Luna and from all the other characters: Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgård, Fiona Shaw, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu e Elizabeth Dulau.
The new season
But what do we know about the second season of Andor? Some details were provided to us by Tony Gilroy, creator of the series, who wanted to focus attention on two key elements of the new episodes. In fact, he confessed:
The tone will always be the same. Hopefully it’s also the same quality, same attention to detail and all the other things that people have become accustomed to. But there are two things that are distinctly different. One is that this is a series about Cassian becoming a revolutionary, so his commitment to the cause won’t be much in doubt over the next four years. The second difference is that we will cover four years. Every time we do three episodes, we jump forward a year. Senior year will bring us to Rogue [One]. We have some pretty interesting storytelling opportunities. I’d be curious to know if anyone else has done this in the past. We can’t think of a show where anyone has done that.
Although the release of the second season is therefore still very far away, these two pieces of news seem to be really important to understand the future of this show.
