It’s been about a month since that Android 12 started arriving on Pixel phones, perfectly in tune with the launch of Google’s new hardware. Since then, Samsung has already managed to get its own update for the S21 series, potentially making it one of the largest launches for a new version of the operating system so far. Now it seems that even the Android TV are receiving support for Android 12.
Android 12 extends support for Android TVs
Since at the moment Android 12 is only available for developers, to install it you will need, just like with the beta version of last summer, a ADT-3, Google’s development box for the platform. If you do not want to carry out this somewhat cumbersome process, you will have to wait for an official update, which is probably upon us.
As for what awaits us once the update is available, there are a few key changes to keep an eye out for – the UI is receiving a tweak, complete with 4K support, new background blurs and text scaling for accessibility.
Google also includes support for HDMI CEC 2.0 and a better image quality and refresh rate. None of these improvements will fundamentally change the way we watch television, but they are still valuable features that promise to improve our user experience.
In any case, we advise you to take a look at the official website to discover all the additional functions that Android 12 promises to introduce on Android TV.
