Hawkeye Review: Episode 3 – Eco

The third episode of the Hawkeye series turns out to be a winning mix between action humor and relationship between the characters without sparing the background of some of them

Hawkeye’s third episode opens with a glimpse into the past of Maya Lopez, who will grow up to become the anti-heroine known as Eco, which we just glimpsed at the end of last episode. The flashback has the function of establishing some fundamentals about the character: the bond between Maya and her father, the death of the latter and the feeling of vengeance that Maya has towards Ronin as an adult, the presence of a figure even higher than in the dialogues is called only Uncle.

However, in both the flashback and the rest of the episode Maya’s disability is drawn with respect and delicacy. Which also happens to Clint’s disability, which serves to give color to his relationship with Kate.

Mix vincente

The third episode it is a perfect mosaic that combines action and humor even managing to touch themes of a certain depth like the disability that affects two of the main characters and to carry on the narrative even after the initial relentless chase that gives us the chance to take a look at the diverse arsenal of Hawkeye, no doubt sacrificed in the films with the other Avengers.

Hawkeye Review: Episode 3 - Eco

After this initial step, the third episode of Hawkeye allows a long moment of tranquility and introspection that drags us to the end, working on the bond that is maturing between Kate and Clint. She is full of courage and idealism: Hailee Steinfeld plays the role perfectly and with a surreal charge; while Jeremy Renner has increasingly fallen into the part of the cynical and disillusioned hero who, quite simply, just can’t stand it anymore.

At the moment, in short, Hawkeye remains an important character study: the series is working a lot on the characters and the relationship between them, slowly moving towards resolving conflicts.

Final remarks

It must be borne in mind that we are already at the halfway point (there are only six episodes in total, and we are already at the third), and in the second half of the series it will be necessary to gear the gear on the villains and on the stakes. However, several twists and turns still await us most likely.
