Android 12 has finally arrived and, to celebrate, Google has revealed the official name of the new operating system: Android Snow Cone. Let’s find out all the details together.
Android 12’s name is sweet and delicious
It is not the first time that Google uses names of sweets and desserts for its operating systems. Moreover, rumors have been circulating for a while about the probable return to Google’s pastry shop for his Android updates. XDA Developers has in fact reported the name Snow Cone in February of this year and has now finally been confirmed.
Dave Burke, Google’s VP of Engineering, confirmed the name in a tweet showing a background theme for the new software.
The Android 12 update is official time and it is unlikely to arrive on your phone in the next few days. If you own a telephone Pixel, Google reveals that the update is expected to arrive in the “next few weeks”, while other Android phones will wait longer for updating.
This means that at the moment not everyone is able to download the official software on their smartphone but this news, fresh e delicious, is what it takes for face the waiting period which separates users from the new operating system.
The Google Pixel 6 is set to debut on October 19, so it is very likely that the company decides to send them with thebuilt-in update.
Android Pie it was the last version of the operating system to be officially called by a sweet name. With Android 10 e Android 11Instead, Google has changed the cards on the table, abandoning this kind of names. At the moment we have no further information about it, so we just have to wait for the official release on our smartphones to savor some sweetness.
